Peer Support Services

Peer support services are defined as helping relationships between individuals and Certified Peer Specialists that promote respect, trust, and empower individuals to make changes and decisions to enhance their lives. Peer support services are designed to have persons with lived experience work directly with individuals in need. Services allow individuals the opportunity to direct their own recovery and learn how to advocate and guide their recovery process. Peer support services are directed toward the achievement of specific goals that have been defined by the individual receiving services.

Our peer support specialists work with adult clients/referrals to assist with navigating the service system and offer services to support their recovery and wellness. Peer support services are available in our five-county catchment area including Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, and Ste Genevieve. At our Cape Girardeau location, we offer a weekly recovery support group facilitated by peers.
