Consumer Employment

Community Counseling Center employs part-time consumers for essential roles such as librarian, consumer advocate, telephone reassurance line coordinator and responders, outreach assistant, and program aide.  Prior to employment, an initial benefits assessment occurs to evaluate the impact that employment will have on income in relation to the consumer’s current Medicaid, Social Security Disability, and other benefits. Consumer employment practice follows the same procedure as used for any other employee of the Center. Background checks, reference checks, position descriptions, orientation and supervision, and terminations are conducted according to general Center policy. Consumer employees are hired in Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, and Cape Girardeau Counties.
