Consumer Employment

Community Counseling Center employs consumers part-time for essential roles such as consumer advocate, telephone reassurance line coordinator and responders, outreach assistant, and program aide. Prior to employment an initial benefits assessment occurs to evaluate the impact that employment income will have in relation to his/her current Medicaid, Social Security Disability, and other benefits.

Consumer employment practice follows the same procedure as used for any other employee of the Center. Background and reference checks, position descriptions, orientation and supervision, and terminations are conducted according to general Center policy. Consumer employees are hired in Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, and Ste. Genevieve Counties.
