Crisis Intervention involves outreach services for individuals who are at risk of harming themselves or others. Master degreed professionals conduct nonjudgmental assessments of individuals’ current situations to ensure their physical and psychological safety and to determine disposition for treatment.

Crisis Intervention services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. During our normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), anyone in need of emergency services may contact us by phone or appear on a “walk-in” basis at any of the Center's clinics. After working hours (4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) and on weekends and holidays, anyone needing emergency services may contact the 800 Crisis Line known as the Missouri Access Crisis and Response System (MOCARS) and Access Crisis Intervention (ACI) by dialing 1-800-356-5395.

Community Counseling Center (CCC) in conjunction with the Department of Mental Health (DMH) provides the 800 Crisis Line through a regional contract between DMH Administrative Agents in the Southeast Region of the State and the Behavioral Health Response (BHR) team in St. Louis, Missouri. The system involves emergency calls to be screened by BHR which forwards callers' information to CCC's on-call crisis team. These professionals respond to individuals in crisis by phone and/or via face-to-face interventions at clinic locations, in hospital emergency rooms and at law enforcement jails, or at other safe locations in the communities that we serve. Community Counseling Center Crisis Intervention services are available to anyone in need who resides in our catchment area of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, and Ste. Genevieve Counties.
